DAVID’S STORY

David Q. Hernandez was born in Sunnyside, Washington in 1979. He was raised in Grandview, Washington and attended K-12 in the Grandview school district where he was very active both in the student body and athletics. He graduated from Grandview High School in 1997 and proceeded to attend Washington State University (WSU) that fall. In the fall of ’97, David joined the Brotherhood of Omega Delta Phi as a founder of the Upsilon Chapter. During his time as an active brother he served in various positions including President and President-Elect.

David graduated from WSU in December of 2002 with a B.A. in Criminal Justice. He was last working as a Youth Counselor at EPIC Youth Services in Yakima, WA.On February 26th, 2005, David tragically died in a car accident. While he made big contributions and brought big changes to our community during his lifetime, he died too soon. So in his honor, we carry on his legacy by offering scholarships to be awarded to local students.
